Egypt’s Grand Egyptian Museum Receives Second Shrine Of King Tutankhamun’s Collection
The Grand Egyptian Museum has just received the second shrine of King Tutankhamun from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, which will be part of the display scenario of the halls of the treasures of the Golden King.
Major General Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project and the surrounding area, explained that the transfer of the process of disassembling and reassembling the shrine took four hours of hard work.
The shrine was dismantled into 15 pieces, each piece of the shrine was transferred in inner and external boxes using acid-free materials and will soon form part of 7,200 galleries that are expected to be the center of attention at the new museum.
These galleries are set to celebrate ancient Egyptians and their culture through king Tut’s shrines that represent the old ways of Egypt perfectly.
